Veranda with Opaque polycarbonate roof
It can be a difficult decision choosing between polycarbonate and glass for your Veranda roof. Below explains the polycarbonate options available.
Opaque Polycarbonate - this is the most popular choice and also the most cost-effective. The opaque polycarbonate roofing is a semi-transparent milky white colour. It doesn't reduce light but rather diffuses it. It lets less heat through than a clear roof so the terrace is cooler than glass or a clear polycarbonate. Leaves and dirt are less visible from inside.
Clear Polycarbonate - this is transparent, making it perfect if you want a lot of light to get through. Some also say that the clear polycarbonate look is more luxurious than opaque sheets. Downside is that clear polycarbonate sheets are not very heat resistant. And have a tendency to fog from the inside. Leave and dirt are more visible than with opaque sheets.
Ultra Clear Polycarbonate - this has the same characteristics as clear polycarbonate, however, the ultra clear sheets have a more open texture with wider 'channels'. Because of this, Ultra Clear offers even more transparency and an even higher light permeability. This type of polycarbonate looks most like glass. Downside is however that everything on the roof like leaves and dirt are visible.
Solar Control Polycarbonate - these are opaque sheets with a double extruded layer which offers greater protection form infrared solar waves. They provide the right combination between light diffusion and ideal temperature. This keeps light transmission as high as possible while selectively blocking infrared waves from the visible light to get a low solar transmission. The result is a light, cool terrace. Leaves and dirt are also less visible.
With the Fiano Sliding Glass Doors you can turn your veranda easily into a luxury garden room allowing you to enjoy your garden and terrace all year long. It allows you to create a new place in your home where the indoor and outdoors are merged. The glass panels are available in various height- and width dimensions, can run in three to six rail tracks and have no side frames. Due to this, they offer an unrestricted view of your garden. In addition, the Fiano Sliding Glass Doors also protect against rain and cold. This allows you to enjoy the ultimate outdoor feeling, even in typical UK weather. Additionally they offer some sound reduction.
In addition to standard glass panels, we also have available a glass panel with a polished 50mm handle-hole. It comes with a matching double sided screw-in handle. This results in a glass door with a perfectly finished and luxury handle. The glass sliding doors can be fitted with additional accessories, such as adhesive handles, weather brushes and more.
A key frame is used to partially close the veranda on one or multiple sides for instance when it is next to a fence or wall. A key frame is designed to cover the sloped part between the roof and the top of the side wall.
It is possible to retro-fit the Key Frame, for instance if you decide in future to add sliding doors or side panels. Otherwise they can be fitted at the time of installation.
The key frame can be mounted to all types of verandas in our assortment.
